Oh, that's a bummer I love keyboard gladiator fights LMAO Outlet size is 53.5ish mm which is the same size as the TB,....Hmmm  We have 100 octane at the Liberty servo in the bay BYBY5L, it seems that's the best we have up here from the pump.
I wish I was that proficient with a die grinder, but I only have the not so bitey bits and to grab another bit costs $50 or so, add to that the time and well tbh, I end up at the "not worth it" place. I picked up the manifold from Jamo anyway, so a the very least I can grind the other out an have a spare. I almost have enough parts to build a second engineWont take long with a burr. Maybe 30min with a drill. Die grinder will do it in 10
I think I'll stick to 98 RON, I don't think we'll have E85 up here for a while which sucks nuts because I'm just about to get bigger injectors, but they won't be large enough for an E85 tune and I'm a bit dubious about getting ones that are monsters on a 98 tune. I read some articles on E85 an from a performance perspective it seems to make a bit of difference but like my wife said "just run it on avgas or put a bunch of octane booster in it", "ok hun, you can pay the fuel bill then" LOL Just a point of interest, how much cheaper is E85 than 98 in Australia? That 100 octane from united is a blend of 10% ethanol.
hey jamo, are ya sure that the exh manifolds 70mm? just going off memory my evo exh. manifold outlet was about 55 (im guessin 53.3mm as the verniers say above
My TB is 53mm and the manifold is not much bigger and it came with 450cc injectors too, looks like all the bolt ons are all SSG stuff, such a bugger too as I have 2 of everything :fuuuuu:hey jamo, are ya sure that the exh manifolds 70mm? just going off memory my evo exh. manifold outlet was about 55 (im guessin 53.3mm as the verniers say above) and the t/b was around 65mm
hey ben what size is ya t/b, gsr/rvr have around 52-53mm t/b as to the evo's 65mm t/b
and i think ya wont have to port ya exhaust manifold, but probly the intake mani to accomadate the bigger t/b,
All good, still want it to save me porting out the other one, spares are goodIve just went out and measured it and its actually 64mm. So your guess was as wrong as mine !!
I read an article that said it is at least 30% less efficient than regular fuel so you have to put more in to compensate, I suppose that's why some peeps run 1200+cc injectors, it does have more octane than 98 though, but I'm with you, I'd prefer to run 98 over anything elseE85 is much cheaper than 98. 98 Where I live is around $1.65, $1.70 at the moment and E85 I never buy but I know it's alot cheaper. The 98 is better on fuel economy though and much better for the motor for cleaning all the carbon deposits.
Cheers
You should put that on a T-shirt Jack, followed by, "just like your mum" :lol:Its basically methanol without the birth defects and blindness.
But its another 25% more grunt
