Starting to look around for another set of R compounds, as my old second handers are almost rooted lol. I have ran Dunlop D01J in 205/55/16. They have been an eye opener for sure.
Now I have been looking around, but need some first hand experiences. Basically who has used what? I am specifically looking for reviews on R compounds.

if it helps I have a brand new set of 205/55 r16 toyo ra1s? semis for sale as I have now moved up to 17s.

but if not re55s are always a favourite, last well and grip pretty well too.(not so hot in the wet when the tread gets down a bit though)

or dunlop o3gs are also pretty good and better than the bridgstones in the wet.

cant comment on any others though sorry mate

Cheers George, what sort of grip levels should be available with the ra1's? What sort of life span should I expect.

they have a utqg rating of 100 so they are a hard semi(but still a proper semi). they were used for a few race classes for a while and are meant to be very good in the wet(i bought them for wets)
I never droive on them as I lunched my engine before i even fitted them to rims unfortunatley
