My radiator doesnt seem to switch on when i come to lights after a thrash or on hot day. Could it be the thermo relay thats shorted or could it be the thermo sensor or could it be any of the fusebox fused that interact with the thermo??? I've tried a relay bypass and the thermofan turns on. any ideas???

My first idea is that your radiator can't switch on.. but you could try your thermo's ;)

Check the relay first, these things blow a bit.

Failing that, use a multimeter and check the wiring from connection to connection and see if it's flowing current.

If all that's fine, it's the sensor more than likely.

oh my btw the thermo has began to switch on suddenly, lol. I took for a nice drive without the thrashing here n there. And at the lights i waited then i heard it come on then off 2 times. I guess on cold days it never came on thinking thermofan screwed up. Lol but today was warm 24 degrees. So everythings all ok.

mine actually doesnt come on/off intermittently like it should, so we just wired it up so its always on (when the engines on).

Not the best solution, but I cant afford to get ripped off by another auto-electrician.

i also suggest that when i had the gsr stock cooler on ages ago, i used to have the fan switch on randomly in summer times say, if im at lights waiting thermo switches on/off 4-5 times, even on cool days 1-2 times. Also having the bigger cooler, thermo fan never switched on cold days only 1-2 on hot days. Think bigger cooler prooves a change...
