Anybody running a Ralliart Thermostat like the one MEEK has advertised on their E1-3? Have you noticed any difference over the standard one?

Is your motor a 6bolt or 7bolt?

Running a lower temp will allow you to make a bit more power and may also allow you to run a bit more timing...

I have one in the AMG. Haven't run it yet, but I think it will be benificial... On the other side, running hotter will usually mean more efficient burn which will give you better economy...

Give it a go, it isn't going to hurt anything..

Was just curious about the heat issue, as if it were the case, i was going to suggest running a twin thermo setup on the front side of the car rather than a single fan in the engine bay.

they run alot lower temp 71'C, you might have to run a 1,1 or 1.3 bar cap also, if I did it, I would go a alloy radiator setup

The car isn't overheating, I'm just exploring the option of possibly running it a bit cooler. It's a 6-bolt bottom end with an EVO cylinder head. I've got an aluminium radiator with a Davies Craig thermo fan in place of the factory radiator.

yes i run one.. makes a difference.. with a stock one the evo would overheat in tight twisty stuff (sideways so not much airflow) on a hot day.. no trouble what so ever with the ralliart one..

Ralliart thermostats are only available to the evo1-2-3 type thermostats

I had to find an aftermarket one for the VR4 head...
I'm running a 71 degree one also on the AMG.
