Rally of Melbourne

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

we're aiming to do the full arc next year. Only did 3 rounds this year.
Is built to PRC spec, but to give you an idea of how good evo's are, our engine, turbo and gearbox have done 108 000ks and we haven't rebuilt them. The engine isn't tuned, all we've done is put the 34mm restrictor on. The diff is a Ralliart diff, as is the viscous. Clutch is by Jim Berry, but the real heart is the DMS suspension. 50mm, remote canistor, 3-way adjustable - short of WRC suspension there is nothing close.

All that and we're about 2 sec/k off the fastest out there. Would like to put a motec on it-that and new (instead of second hand) Yokohamas (which are also phenomenal) and I reckon we can get to within 1 sec/k of the lead.. Still learning though-need some big $$$ to make the next step though.

Oh, and we'll give the engine and gearbox a freshen up over christmas, get a bit more grunt into it!

Never underestimate the strength of an Evo 6 though-they are nuts!

spencer did very well in the evo 9 too, 3rd outright which is great for a privateer.

i believe that is 3 podiums out of his 4 arc starts this year.not bad.

he beat bates home by about 50 seconds

sorry to hear that

was not a good weekend for the wrx's
almost got taken out by the yellow one in the second pic of sivart's post

yeh heard about the bunt rexy.. not cool.. that is my nightmare by far, id be happy to have a huge off, aslong as it doesnt burn!..

Yeah Tim lost his car in that one. There's an appeal going to raise some $$$ and help him out. He's a young bloke who put every cent an apprentice mechanic makes into a LOAN for that car, and just got it all back together after some damage from a while back.

As for Brenton... here is a pic..

as for being fearless, i dont know, i dont really think about it, tho i dont like going in with other people, that can be a little scary :p i could never co-drive, they deserve the most respect!

I couldn't co drive to save myself either
Scary thing is ive got a mate who is super fast and if he ever gets his car finished i'm in debt of a co-drive for him.
I'd love to see him back out there, but a scared little part of me hopes he never does
