Okay, a bit of research been done lately.
I'm after an LSD so I can start doing a bit more serious offroading.
So far no real luck.

Genuine Mitsubishi from Japan, delivered costs $3500.
According to CAPS, the diff housing and diff are only the same as Chariot GTs and the Eterna Sava, both of which are MMC and rare as hell.

I'm interested in peoples thoughts here.

I don't know the exact dimensions of the galant vr4 housing, but whether spacers could be used, or what to be able to get an LSD for it and bolt that housing in....

Yeah, might contact meek.
Even though I probably bug them too much already.

Just weird CAPS isn't reporting to have the same diff.

i think a diff from a 1G DSM is the same??? they came with LSD..

have to confirm that the ratios are the same tho....

If they are the same as EVO1-2-3, then VR4's and late model mech evo diffs should fit.

You just have to research driveshaft options etc etc

i'll let you know in a week or so if a evo lsd will fit. there was a lsd for sale here few months which should arrive next week.

The diff looks a lot different to the VR4 unit, and the cups look different to the Evo3 units too.

I'd suggest that the internals are much the same, but if anything is different it will be the inner stub axles. But really... why would they make something so very custom, for just one or two vehicles?

The HSG has a viscous LSD at the back, perhaps you could modify one of those to be more grabby?

i have both evo viscous and mech lsd's at work, i could pop the backs off of to check out for you, the viscous though wouldnt work without the matching cups, so thats probably out. but mech might work. the housing looks pretty much the same really.
