As some of you know, I'm looking into doing a rear oposing twin pot caliper conversion. I'm interested as to whether anyone has attempted this before?

What is the park brake setup on the 5 and up evos?

later model cars have a drum handbrake i think.

no cable to the caliper itself.

edit:sorry by later cars i meant later evos.

I just wanna know why you feel the need for this? how fast do you need to stop! Dont forget your gonna have to match up a (custom?) master cylinder and some sort of bias valve so it will all work properly and evenly..

CamZR4 on mmc has twin pots on the rear of his C73A rally car.

he runs a hydrolic handbrake from memory, which i believe is illegal here.

Grumbly has twin pots from an alfa romeo at the rear of his cordia.
Can't find the thread on cordiapower
Dunno if he's on here anymore as he now drives a WRX.

look at hi spec calipers from england
they have hand brake calipers
give race brakes a call
or brembo and stop tech do a
mech parkbrake caliper
but it gets pricey
i've done alot of research let me know if u need any info

i seriously don't know how you gonna do it as the other day i wanted to c if i can put my old single pot caliper that used to be on the front but realised the bolts on the rear were really close and you need the hand brake thingy(whaterver you call it) plus new rotors so unless you can modify all that i don't c that happening, but again i'm talking about vr4.

most aftermarket calipers don't bolt up in the same plane
as factory calipers so mounting them is not a drama
thats a another reason i couldn't use
evo 9 rears
when u look at the bracket it becomes clear

The high spec stuff from the uk looks like it might be the go.

I'm going to email them about prices and caliper selection.

Dedant: Have you done the rear brake conversion?

i'm in the process of doing it
going through race brakes sydney and perth
hi spec have had some delivery issues but i phoned them and they said the're getting it sorted
my package is calipers, brackets, 2 pce discs, braided lines, handbrake cable

What calipers are you using? Are race brakes making up the brackets? Are you using a brake bias valve? Upgraded master cylinder? And the all important question, How much $$$ ? PM me if you don't want to post it up here.

What front setup are you going for? The 3000gt/gto 4 pots?
