Reliable 200kw ATW

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

If you didnt want to spend a heap of money is the id do the following.
-Full 3 in. exhust etc..
-560cc
-SAFC2 and perhaps a better pump.
-2 1/2 to 3 in. cooler piping..(2 1/2 in. in hotter areas helps...upgrade the throttle elbow too etc..)
-18-20 pound.
*get a good tune with the injectors and the SAFC2, chase mixtures etc...This setup will eliminate your factory boostcut.Ive heard of people running the motor rich on overun to cool it off especialy in circuit work or hill climbs were your car gets a hiding..not 100% sure though

I rekon that'd near make it or close enough..sure the motor wont be doing it as easy as it would be with a bigger turbo,You might need the E3 16G..but let it breathe and you''ll be suprised...A mates more or less stock E3 made 155kw @ wheels with 14 pound and exhaust.Keep a plumback BOV for response.Thermo wrap everything.Engine life can be helped by cooling,if youre gonna hillclimb it bite the bulelt and upgrade the radiator.Make sure you got an oil cooler(stock oil cooler is probly fine).
Hillclimbs work the shit out of your car.Get an oil temp gauge and a proper mech coolant temp gauge( not the factory junk) so you can monitor the 2 most vital temps.
Remember, these cars were built for this sort of thing.. 8)
have fun :D

Yeah for example the WRX STi has 206kw at the motor and it makes 145kw at all 4 on the dyno bog stock so they have a loss of 61kw through the AWD drivetrain. How much of that goes between front and back I have NFI :?

Makes 29.61 % loss

You don't need an aftermarket computer as stated, but you will need some form of engine management to remove the factory boost cut, compensate for bigger injectors, etc.

An aftermarket computer will do all of the above, plus more including giving you the ability of removing the air flow meter, running electronic boost control, and finer tuning.

The new Wolf V500 has been proven to make good power on a 4G63, hence why I referred to it. As some of you already know, there's an AWD 4G63 in Melbourne that made 233kw on 20psi with a small 16G.

lorrie, a 2.5" dump pipe wouldn't be preferred over a 3" dump, the less backpressure the faster the turbine response.

200kw fom an 4G63 Evo Motor:

Drivetrain:

Custom Clutch $600
Install cost $200
Oil etc,, $50

Engine:

Balance Shaft Removal Kit $80
Evo 8 560cc Injectors $450 (cleaned)
HKS 264 Camshafts $900
Performance Valve Springs $180
Gates Racing Timing Belt $220

Intake:

Custom intake system with 4' pod enclosed in a box $150
Custom intercooler piping 2/ 1/4' hot side 2.5' cold side $400

Misc:

Turbosmart boost controller $90
Chipped ecu to suit $300
Walbro GSS342 pump $180
3' Turboback exhaust system
Rebuilt race prepped Big 16G $700
Relocate battery to the boot

That should net you around 210kw at all four wheels.
A sierra trim race turbo would be capable of supporting 250kw ATW and they are aound $1200.

If you need help with any of the parts i posted above let me know.

Thanks for everyones responses.

I will be working out which way the build will progress. Most likely start with suspension etc and move on from there as I become more competitive.
