Ok guys, I'm sick of just looking at my RVR chilling in the Garage..

I want to get it registered! ..Catch is, it must go to the notorious Dickson Motor registry (Canberra) Known for strict/dry arse rape for anything modified/imported..

If I was to remove my AVC-R Electronic Boost Controller, disconnect wiring and re-plumb the stock vacuum lines in.. Will the Avc-r unit retain the current boost maps/tune when I reconnect it?.. I assume yes as it maintains its settings when the battery is disconnected and a google search says 'Yes' . . But I would like to make certain this is true..

Has anyone here had experience with Dickson Motor Registry? as bad as they say?

Can a car fail due to a bad wheel alignment? steering wheel not straight.. (haven't been able to get wheel alignment due to car being unregistered)

Cheers,
-Pat

In wa, we get a permit to drive it to the inspection centre. This permit can also be used to drive to a repair place. if its the same there, get permit, drive to get alignment then continue on to get inspection within 24 hours.
If the wheel is crooked, the indicators Will not cancel correctly. DEFECT...

Yeah, drove it on an Unregistered Vehicle permit from Queensland.. In the ACT I can only get a 12 hour Permit for this car. Ultimately I'm trying to put off getting a wheel alignment as the stock wheels are fitted to the car and they have a slightly larger rolling diameter than the wheels I have to replace them.. I can't put the other wheels on as the fronts poke outside the guards a little and one of the tyres has some neg camber wear.. Dilemma..

If your worried about the AVCR hook it up to 12v power source while its out of the car..battery charger...spare battery...whatever you have handy.

Ah, okay.. Fair enough, I made the assumption that the slight decrease in the rolling diameter would effect the alignment slightly, not in a profound, just enough to possibly cause some uneven wear over an extended period of time..

Just remembered the rear tint isn't exactly legal either.. If it comes down to removing the tint and or paying anymore excessive costs I may just sell up to someone not living in the ACT, the system may win this one...

Have neither, might have to just hide it well! and re connect the stock vacuum lines, could probably get away with leaving the actuator attached to the firewall, as long as I cover up the little Apexi sticker, looks pretty inconspicuous where it is...

So far I have fitted the stock airbox, cam cover, spark plug cover.. Don't want to inspector to give it a second look..

That gives me a little hope
Over here, the tint tester can only check the windows that wind down as the slot is only 5mm wide.

That gives me a little hope..
I would much MUCH prefer to keep the tint on.. Keeps the car cool, protects the interior from getting crusty, privacy in the back and more importantly cost money to re-tint, something I'll be short on after this ordeal..
