I'm looking to replace the stock plastic bov on the car in the event it might leak in the future.

I was wondering if I can use the hks evo 4-9 bov? I looked at hks ssqv version 3 and there isn't a ce9a specific one so I was wondering if I can use the later evo's bov as they have them available for the evo 4-9

thanks!

I have a Evo 8 bov on my Evo 3, that is a stock Evo 8 one, if that fits I dont see why a different manufacturers Evo 8 one wouldent fit. That said I would suggest to go the Evo 8 MR one, its recirculating which avoids any emissions sillyness that you might get otherwise.

I've heard of lots of ppl using the Evo 8 mr bov. besure to keep your stock bov installed aswell. I'm not 100% sure why ppl do this sumthing to do with lose of gas milage and shitty performace with it gone. may be some one here can clarify this. I got my car with an After market HKS bov and still had the stock installed and working, everything seems to be ok this way.

I honestly cannot see the point of having two blow off valves installed, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, meaning the blow off valve with the weakest spring will leak first even if the other one is brand new and awsome it won't stop the other one leaking.

i defiatley agree with both of you guys on the leaking part. I beleive leaveing the stock bov in place was because the system was designed to be used with a reculating bov and when ppl installed ones that just vent to atmosphere they had issue's, so leaving the stock one inplace kept them problem free. but dont quote me on that all i am certain is that it's very common amoung the DSM guys i know.

If you are letting any air out after its entered the inlet tract you going to have that problem, so if you are running 1 recirculating and 1 atmo BOV your still going to have issues.

lol. What WindeX said. Its absolutely pointless having the stock still in there. Sounds like whoever but the new one in couldn't be bothered making up new pipes.

Or have anything to block the old ones off

Turn the blow off valve around the other way, that way it wont work or leak. Or just get a 8MR BOV :)
No, dont do that. That may lead to other problems.
Get an 8MR Bov.
Good for 30psi.
