Reuse flywheel bolts? yay or nay

Snap On sell a socket for rounded bolts that works really well for the situation you are in.
just changed the clutch in my e5 last night and the breaker bar and locked off flywheel combo worked a treat.

Evo-gsr... very true. I have a set of those and they have paid for them selves 100 fold. I used to go down to the local Pick-a -Part. Guys tried pulling heads of Falcon EF-EL-AUs. The head bolts are a full prick to get off. They would round a couple of head bolts off AFTER pulling everything else off ... Comes along me with the SnapON socket, 2 minutes work, and walk out with a head. Sure saved some time getting everything else off LOL. Moral of the storey.. Make sure the first thing you do is crack the head bolts FIRST !! They are like a "female" version of an Ezy Out. I cant believe how tough they are. I've had a metre long bar trying to crack those falcon head bolts, and they still haven't broken !

Sounds good ill be buying new bolts now and i might head to the tool shop and see if i can get some of those sockets. Problem is with the bar its slipping as soon as I get any kind of tension

An 11/16 " should work ... there is less than 1/2 a mm difference to a 17mm , and those spiral "teeth" REALLY grip hard.

I spotted a hidden tool shop on my way to town got a 17mm for $27 better than nothing i guess fingers crossed it works. Should i heat the bolts before i get the breakwr on them or should i just go for it?

didnt get to go out to the garage last night but i did first thing this morning.   it worked a treat i didnt even have to heat them the socket and my 1.5m breaker were enough to get the bastards, each bolt had atleast 1/2 the thread covered in loctite...
Thanks for all the tips guys these sockets are the shit.
