Rev Limiter?

Hey guys just want to know if there is some kind of rev limiter?

I accidentally went to 7.5-8K the other day. I would have expected it to cut out??

7k is the limit. your asking for trouble if you rev over it, unless you have some stronger components in your head (valve springs)

well, a 14b anyway, useless above 5k
my 16g has power up till 6,500, never gone past 6.5, but im told it has power all the way to redline

i've heard of people occasionally going to 7500 - 8000 on track days..

not good everyday though..

my 16g has power up till 6,500, never gone past 6.5, but im told it has power all the way to redline

my 16g/14b hybrid boosts up till redline in my 4G93 ~ 7500rpm...... and its still increasing when it gets there...... (only gets to 19psi and then boost cut :shock: )

yeah i didn't do it on purpose, wasn't paying attention. First day of a working turbo. Kinda caught me by surprise :S

My vr4 doesn't run outta puff till 6600. It's supposedly still got a 14b too. Rev limiter is either 7400 or 7500. Not sure.

The revlimiter usually goes in you ecu.

sorry i didnt mean where physically. I meant when does it hit in an 89 VR4? If at all?

It tells you in the code :-

Rev Limit = 3750000 / X

01 45 8C 01 F4 24 05 03

X = 01 F4 = 0x01f4 which is hex for 500.

3750000 / 500 = 7500

7500 is the rev limiter.

(this is assuming of course you have an an aspec.... no idea what the code looks like for JDMs)

Not healthy to do..really dont need to be that high,but if u miss second at full revs its easy to do.

mine makes plenty over 5000rpm with a 14b

mine tapers off up top,u can fell it,over 6000-6200.loses a bit.
