maybe you proffesionals should have a rice thread

yes they should be leading by example

your car is your car, you should be able to do what you want- we're talking about suspension and 4WS- right? not about what JAP63's done to his car, looks wise?

My old VR4 was sacked on 18's, with 215x35's- and no one EVER called me a ricer.

Sure, it didnt handle like it was supposed to, but considering I lived in the city, it didnt really matter. In the 2 years I owned the car, I only broke 2 driveshafts, both RH/Rear, and that was an off the limiter launch at Calder, and a launch going up a slight hill.

At high speed, the 4WS made my car dangerous to drive around at 120kph+

JAP63- I rekon take it out, and it will help with handling, with the car looking the way you like it , but like the others said (and then quickly runs and locks) it would also help if your car is setup somewhere near the factory suspension settings, like its supposed to.

Maybe everyone would like to check this thread out and take particular note of 91vr4evoltution's comments.
Mike knows a tonne about these cars!!
BTW I removed just the lines etc from my car around 12 months ago and haven't had an ounce of trouble since.

Dam I must be getting old. I never used to let an opportunity like that go by before :(

Oh well, better late than never - RICER

PS, And don't think that you can use "but I also did a flat 12 second quarter" to justify it either :)

What no one got a chance to hear is that with the stock wheels fitted and with the standard neutral alignment values the problem was still there...hence my predisposition to point the finger at Hydraulic causes.

yes.

do what you want :!: don't let someone tell you 19's are too big for your excel  it's a phase we all go through ; and look back and laugh

Ive received PM's of forum users that have been quite helpfull with the information i needed for the 4WS issue..

Thanks guys.

I didnt want to post this here..but where i was going to put it up got deleted/removed.

lol funny...... must admit my car is rice..... meh eat it every day anyway....

Well it doesnt matter anyway..opnions aside...every one has one

Thanks for the support though OFFON-4...I didnt think of it as being rice either

The other comment i thought odd was from AUSVR4 when he quoted my "rubberband" tyres..thats funny i thought 235/45/17's were anything but rubberband...theyre actually taller and larger than stock rolling diameter by 28 mm..

So im not sure about them being rubber bands.. as the sidewall on them is 106mm,standard is 117mm and i dont see people with 215/40/17's who have a sidewall of 86mm being bagged for it...or even more so people with 205/40/17's which is 82mm..havent seen any critisicm...and that there is plain fact..not opinion.

oooohhh ok, well, in reading that i have to be a fence sitter, not for the fact that the car looks rice, i think it looks hell tuff, but u cant have it sitting on its arse and handle like a dream, something has to give, get some coilovers to make the suspension better, raise a lil, you can still having it sit low without having it so low it affects handling. keep the 18's they suit the look that your going for with the car, take what people have said, and use it to your advantage.

As for the 18's look rice, i have 18's on mine, try telling me its rice, i have to agree with some people on here that others are sooo closed minded in that they would rather prefer to see a vr4/evo with 15-16 inch rally style rims rather than a "nice set" of 18 (im not talking fucking blinged out uleh chrome my gawdd habibby)

If you think my car looks rice with 18's, so be it, its not going to change my opinion, i joined this forum to get advice and learn and to make my vr4 my own, not to get bagged out becuase i am taking a different approach to every other vr4, evo, gsr out there, whilst i respect the views and opinions of others on here, it comes evident more and more i visit this site that some people cant do the same, if i wanted a rally inspired vr4 i would have bought one, simple as that. However i am going for a look that i want for my vr4, im going to do it my way, not how someone else would like to see it done, if that means upsetting a few people in the mean time, well then so be it im not here to please.

I think respect goes a long way, I respect that others are going all out rally style with their cars setting them up for track, hillclimb, and strip duties fine tuning every detail to get it just right, but i also respect the guys who want to go all out and make their car diff from the norm, diff from every other maroon/white vr4/evo/gsr out there....and at the end of the day it comes down to respect, If someone shows me respect and accepts that maybe i have a diff opinion, you will find i am one of the easiest guys to get along with, but if you simply cant open your mind and accept that people are different and want different things from thier cars then why come on to a enthusiest forum, where people are different???...at the end of the day cant we all just get along and wipe smiles of poor suburu driver's face's?

You can include my car in the "rice" category from this weekend on as it will have blue anodised Rays Lug nuts holding the 15" oz racing wheels on, they should be good for another 50 hp shouldn't they?
