well some recent rain and an overflowing gutter flooded some parts in my shed.

Most of the gear was ok but a set of rings that came with some CP pistons are a bit marked so whilst the engine shop said they will be Ok ....I might just replace them

So I am looking for informed opinions on what you guys have opted for. Chrome moly or iron and why.

the engine is a stroker and will see 7500rpm as rev limit. turbo FP68HTA and will be set at 25 psi......injectors and the usual other crap to back up a safe tune.

Brian, is it a newly bored block or just a rehoned block?
If its a newly bored block and you're putting 25psi in it and revving to 7500rpm then you're probably better to go with a moly coated ductile iron top ring as they will handle the heat better and last longer. As long as the coating doesnt damage or flake off from a ****** tune and detonation, it should be fine. The only issue is that you will need to ensure you bed them in properly with a coarse hone. Im a bit iffy on using hard rings on a stroker though, they will wear the sides of the bore more than soft iron rings will. As strokers inherently have more pressure on the side bore walls, it may increase wear and scoring quicker than expected. If your stroker is a rehone of the block with new pistons going in then Id go for iron rings as they are softer and will bed into the inconsistencies of the bore easier and quicker for less blowby, plus the bores will love you for it next rebuild
When I built my engine years ago with a fresh 20 thou oversize bore, I opted for ductile iron top ring without any coating. I cant see the problem with using a non-moly ring especially when I'd rather rebuild an engine sooner rather than later and not expecting to go more than 80-100k's before the next rebuild. My bores will love me for it next build as I'd rather change rings than blocks!

it has been bored and the rings that got wet have had the gap done for that block.

the main piss off is that there is only one cylinder set damaged.....and of that set only one ring
