Roof skin.

Howdy,

I tried to search for it but had no luck. Apologies if it was covered before.

I know that CC is cursed with the rusting roofs. I also know that people cut them off and replace with rust free units.

If all the roofs were the same then where do people find these rust free roofs?
My roof is not showing rust yet but there is a suspicious lump on the roof which could be a beginning to something new.

So i wanted to get ready early.

Also a rough cost for this task would be superb help.
Even if just supply and install, as the whole car will be getting resprayed anyways.

Maybe your roof has already been replaced when they had the recall years ago, mine has

You can tell by removin the roof lining, or even the centre light and see if there is any rust forming under the rib

You can buy a new roof turret from mitsu but is very pricey, a cheaper option is goin to a Proton spare parts and gettin 1 to suit a Proton Wira

You will need in total, the roof turret and the rails

Also if you need the black turret mould strips (ones that go from frotn window to rear window) you can buy them from Proton to suit a Wira also, Mitsubishi items costs twice as much

Looked up this morning at my interior light... and saw some black crumbs inside of it.... Im going to guess its a sign

Btw, how do you remove the dome light? I couldnt find any screws and was too scared to try simply pulling it off since it slides from left to right for on/off.

pull off the clear lens

Yep, the lens pops off. Will be a small screwdriver slot in the middle on front or rear side...
