Have a RVR Hypersports here in Adelaide that's a real street sleeper.... The auto has had a kit put thru it , and while its a bit
harsh in daily driving, it puts the power down well. The usual 3" exhaust and turbo dump has been fitted to the Evo 3 factory
fitted motor. We have just installed an ECMLink chip and an EBC... and cranked 160kw ( Dyno Dynamics) at 17psi. That was actually the limit
as we have run out of injector duration ( unfortunately the Evo 3 spec motor doesnt include 510cc injectors).
The next step will now be Evo 8/9 560cc injectors, a derestricting Silicon intake hose from the turbo to AFM, and a Walbro pump, and crank a bit more boost. In hindsight, the torque
convertor needs a much higher stall convertor, as the std one makes it a little lazy off the line. But when its up on boost, it is
pretty quick ... especially with the auto pulling quick gear changes with the higher pressure on the solenoids. Now that E85 is becoming more
available in Adelaide at three Caltex sites, maybe its time to run bigger injectors again and run full time E85 and really make some
serious torque !!
The Sporting Car club in Adelaide is about to run 400m sprint days at the Tailem Bend Motorsport track ( the old Mitsubishi test grounds).
I reckon its a good opportunity to take it for a run down the strip... its Adelaides only "drag strip" at the moment. I hope it gets supported, as weve
not had an operating drag strip in Adelaide for years..
