Alright. I know there a few topics about roof rust. As we all know 100% of our cars have it. Even my 3 that are under cover still have it.

Im going to the effort to repair my missus roof. As i noticed a little patch about a 1c piece size starting to form into a bubble. Her car is a factory white 97 model.

I know people have done roof swaps and what not.

But seeing if anyone has scrapped out the glue and resealed it with new stuff ? I got access to sealant at work due to working with alloy canopies day in and day out.

Is it as simple as scraping the old stuff out and putting rust converter in then seal over the top ?

Or ??? Is there another process?

Its not just rvrs a lot of mitsis that used this glue have the same problem. It's the glue and how it retains moisture. Only real way to do it properly and for good is to cut it all out, weld in a plate in its place and refinish it. Ftos were also common to be plagued with it in the 90s.
