Hey guys,

Hopefully not going to get burned for this as it's not really RVR related...but hey, I'm excited and it's an import with almost the same name as my beloved car!

My new 1997 Honda RVF400! Anyone into bikes knows these are the quickest LAMS (learner approved motorcycle scheme) bike, and me being on restrictions, i wanted the best and i tell ya, it's pretty dam quick (0-100 in 4sec, top speed 220km/h). Mmmmm WIN!

Couple of pics with the RVR nearby:

Yet to race the two side by side, but i'd say it'd be VERY close hehe =D

Nice! What do they go for? My bro is looking into a ninja .

Hey Barry, they aren't the cheapest lams bike but they are the best sports LAM you can get. I got mine for around $6.5k but that was a good deal as the owner was going OS. Most go for around 8k, some up to 10k...but they are overpriced imo.
My mate has a ninja which I ride often, great value bikes that are reliable and perfect entry level bike. On the down side, they are mega slow, sound terrible, and have a very upright riding position....
If your Bro likes power (and judging by the cars you both drive, I know he does), tell him to seriously consider an rvf ;)

nice man! :D
I had a VFR400 a couple years ago (not LAMS approved, slightly more power maybe?). Looked very similar to yours except had the twin circle headlights. ;)
Absolutely awsome first bikes! handle well, and go waaaaay better than 250cc 4 cyl.
I imagine the RVF would handle a bit better than the vfr too, with the better suspension so would be a great little bike to throw around. the v4 has a real nice note too it as well B)

But, as you said, they can be over priced for what they are. you can normally get a bigger bike for the same money (but not LAMS approved). :(

Thanks oggy, yeah very similar to your old vfr, slightly less top end power (bit more mid range torque though) and I think that's how the rvf just scrapes in for lams.

Waaaay quicker than my old cbr 250, that thing was painfully slow! And yep, they are aweome in the twisties and on the track...although I haven't tracked mine, but they are very popular track bikes. I actually prefer the cbr l4 sound over the v4 though...

Do you still ride, if so what now dude?

yeah, I have seen a few track VFR/RVF for sale at times.

Not riding anything atm (let my learners run out haha :( ). But i'll prob get a licence again soon, not sure if i want a dirt bike or a road bike though haha. If i get a roady i'll prob by my VFR back, or get a 600 :D
