I've been changing gears at 6.5 coz it seems to loose puff by then in the td05h16g small. Is it safe to go further? Or not?

Since I've just bought at gt3076 I know they keep hauling past 8k now I know I
That wouldn't be advisable on the stock motor. Am I best to keep the emo below the redline or is it a conservative redline?

Wow Ive got to stop drinking and posting ha ha!!

So basically I'm getting the Evo 5 ecu flash tuned off eBay and the limited is set to 7.8k as far as what the guy tunes them too. Now is that actually safe on the Evo 3 motor? I change by 6.5k because the tdo5 seems to plateau at that point but with the gt3076 I'd assume it keeps on giving and most dyno graphs I've seen push to 7.5 so in trying to work out if it's really actually safe to do so?

I have seen a few rev to 7.5k with a spring upgrade and Rod bolt upgrades.

But honestly if you have cams that still want to make power at that rpm then sure. I think it might be risky but it will be able to take it if the engine is in good shape.

Keep in mind that I've not seen many cars with 4gs & stock cams continue make power up that high unless seriously modified.

With valve springs and cams it may get you there. As Baz said risky. I had a built motor with a 3076 and was still making power at 9k. So the puff is there. We knocked the limiter down to 8.2k hard cut and soft was 8k. IIRC
