Screamer pipes

Sorry Guys whats the term, complete noob here. wtf is a screamer pipe? I missed this one! from roger's dodgy picture looks like just a very short straight out pipe which would be VERY illegal!

They are VERY illegal.

They run from the wastegate (internal or external) and vent directly to atmosphere from there.

The actual exhaust from the main housing flows throught eh cat/muffler etc. But when the wastegate opens under boost, the screamer starts to flow and makes a godawfully loud (and addictive) noise.

Pipe on left vents to atmo. Screamer.

Pipe on right is actual exhaust.

do cops actually look under ur car though to check if you have a screamer pipe?..

if they hear it they will try and find it (and it isnt too hard to know theres a screamer close by when u can hear it a few 100 m away

most rta guys dont know what a screamer is
mate got defected for everything except the screamer
they kept going back to it trying to work out what it was but had no clue
