That is how theyre normally attached......

just take out your rear seat - your car will go a little faster and youll stop having to carry extra people :smt036

there is nothing that an angle-grinder cant do 8)
but seriosuly, you can add some -ve camber by adjusting the camber bolts on your trailing arms. this will most likely eliminate the problem

Bloody amazing, I have this exact issue and just signed up to ask about it. I am running 16 inch rims, with 205 rubber and getting the same scubbing. I have gone back to the 15 inch Oz racings at the moment, but I want to run the 16s as they have much better rubber on them.

It is only this bolt/screw that scrubs, I am going to look into re-locating it to lower in the arch as it is out of the tyres path. Might also look at a little camber adjustment, will take some pics of anything I do.

Cheers!

Guys,
I have the exact same problem, however it can happen with even one person in the back. I'm on 17's with coilovers and 7.5" wide rims.
I was told by a guy (and really is common sense) to just get rid of the bolt and use pop rivets.

Yeah I think the suspension isnt my problem... its more the offset of the rims that is causing the issue.

You scrubber! it's a common problem with 17x7.5"or bigger wheels. A lot of guys just cut that section off and also cut the plastic end pieces off the rear bar where the bolt goes through. To hold the rear bar on in that location you can use a metal CV boot strap. Works a treat and is strong, also gives you much more clearance

had that problem
get rid of that chunky bolt, though im bodgy i just put a screw instead of rivets, hasnt come out or come loose yet in 6 years!

When you get it sorted and no longer need those silly little 15" wheels, let me know, I'll buy em off ya!

The evo rear bar, actually has its mounting bolt 10-15mm further back than that of a gsr. Check its an evo bar. Thats on evo 2/3 anyways. I ran 18 by 7.5's, lowered and has never scrubbed with 5 people in the car. 215 tyres also.
