hey guys
just wondering if those seat mounts are legal *u know the one im talking about, those 90 degree brackets*

they come in alloy and steel...
if a coppa saw them, would i get the yellow sticker??

or are runners the only way to go?

btw, its to suit sparco fibreglass seats... i just got some sparco ultra's...

and are those seats legal also?

Brackets aren't legal, they have no give in the case of an accident. You have to have rails. On new cars, the rails are designed to snap and hit the "catch" at the end to bring you as close to the drivers airbag as possible.

Stupid design idea, but hey.

As for the seats, do they have an ADR tag (on a sticker) somewhere underneath or on the back or whatever? If the answers no, then the answer's no. (No ADR Not Legal)

Baz to be honest, your car is defectable in probably 20 ways already.. What's a few more?

So long as you know they are safe.......

lol
good point jase..

its FIA approved which is what the track dudes look at i believe...
got the stamps and all

we have no airbags.. lol
so does this mean it doesn't matter?

or are the rails designed to get our faces closer to the steering wheel to smash our face? lol jk

fark.. everything is illegal these days..

I know the code for compliance is ADR69 which states that the original mounting points must be used. I have a fixed back Sparco bucket seat and all that was required was two lengths of metal being welded onto the original rails. It passed ADR requirements and It is covered in my engineer's cert.
If anything, You might want to check the legality of having fibreglass seats. I wouldn't want a fibreglass splinter up my arse if the seat breaks..
They're not very comfotable but I know aluminium seats pass ADR.
