Hi

I'm taking my car to my mechanic next week for a brake fluid change. While I have the car there I was thinking of getting the rear diff fluid changed. So I can make sure the mechanic uses the right fluid. What should I be asking to be used? Brand is not the issue just the correct specification. Also the front transfer case. What is the recommeded items for the HSGR?

Cheers

Hey Brendon,

I know you're down at Lismore, but im assuming there's not too many mechanics down your way that know much about 4G63's, let alone RVR's.

If you can be bothered driving an hour and a half to Ashmore on the Goldy then i'd highly recommend my mechanic Ivan at 'The Toy Shop'
http://www.the-toy-shop.com.au/

He knows his stuff as he used to have a few Evo's previously, plus the Toy Shop speacialises in servicing and modifying Jap imports.
They've done a great job on my RVR, servicing and replacing single fluid, plug and filter on the car...

If you're interested, call Ivan on 0450 923 944 and just have a chat with him... Let him know i sent you and he'll definately look after you on price too.

Good luck,

Lars

Thanks Matt.

I'll go visit ToyShop next time I go for a drive to the Gold Coast. Might get some prices for mods :) Thanks Lars.

Well that was lucky.

When my mechanic emptied the transfer box, there was about 1/2 a cup of oil in it. He was dumbfounded to understand why it was so low in oil.

Nice fresh stuff in now. Driveline seems to be running alot smoother and quieter.
