Hey all ;-), it's been a while since last post but I saw this topic and thought I would add my 20 cents or whatever it is these days with inflation etc. I performed a short shift on my SG before ripping the drivetrain out, it cost about $5 tops, I got a drill and simply put a hole in the forward throw shift thing on the gearbox closer to the bit that goes into the box, replaced the rubber bushing on the cable with a cut piece of cutting board, drilled the hole in the centre and wacked it all together with a SS bolt with a big arse washer on both sides and 2 nuts to lock it all. Without sounding like captain dodgy, it works a treat, shift throw is 4 inches total without changing any of the mechanism. Just an idea that I thought could be worth a go.
