Just wanting to know if there are any other boxes that will bolt directly onto the 2.6L bessides the Jspec and aus spec ones?

Mate has one and keeps lunching em!

Car has 160kw atw

not much else that would be an upgrade mate.they are much of a muchness strength wise

might have to get one rebuilt and strengthened

are the sigma set out as a n/s or e/w if e/w maybe check out the early triton 2.6l carbi or the early 2.6l astron carbi magna

Its NS.

Its an astron motor from a efi magna!

Triton bolt on but thats about it.
Nothing else matches

I was thinking starion but havent had any experince thats why i posted it here????

What about a starion box?

starion boxes wont bolt to the block as they are the same as diesel engines on the rear of the block.

the triton 2wd box is also a pos, but the ratios are a tad better.

bear in mind these boxes are old and a reco will be alot better
straight out of the box.

isotopic polishing,

which is what the v8 super cars use in their diffs etc...

rohan ambrose @ guru motorsport in seaford has a machine

Might want to try www.sigma-galant.com, there are a few guys on there with pleanty of power and im sure they are using starion boxes. I think they are narrow block gearboxes so your motor needs to be an auto motor, I belive thats the way it works.
Hope this helps

Starion boxes are wide but they also run a hydraulic clutch setup. If you really are making big power you will need to either look at a supra box with a dellow style bellhousing or switch to a rx7 series 4/5 gearbox with a mazda b2200 bellhousing. Mazda b2200 utes ran 4g54's for a small period of time and are quite rare to get your hands on.Try http://www.projectzerog.com/forum/ for all the info you need.

Are we talking about a 2.6 Astron Triton right? Then a Starion box will definalty bolt on. im pretty sure the diesel block is totally different to the piston blocks.

DOUGMO nice one!! i did a quick search on them and you are correct. They share the same pattern. You learn something everyday.

mits probably just used the diesel box to handle to torque of the
turbo motor.

i dont think the gear ratios are even that different
