Gday , one of my machineist and I are looking into customising our rotors on our track car. Yes we could simply buy these from BDA but we have the time and this is a track car on a budget. Im wondering if anyone has done this to there own gear? yes I understand on a normal vehicle its pointless as the reduction in heat against the decrease in surface area in contact with the pad is silly, but at the moment we are experimenting also with different type pads to reduce brake dust but have found we are warping discs / wearing down pads to quickly. we have all the gear here to do it and will begin out little experiment this weekend, im really just asking if anyone else has tried it and if so what did they find best over the whole slotting over drilling over dimpling blah blah

Cross drilled rotors always crack... even on exotics.

Dimple and slott ftw. However doing it on stock rotors is questionable as the body structure could be different to those slotted from factory and may cause issues ?

Bit rusty as was 18 months ago. I did left and right sides

I know someone down here in Melbs who drills and slots rotors. Makes his own billet flywheels too
