my car is due for a service, but the last week or so, my engine smells like burning oil. I didnt notice it because my nose is shitehouse, but my mate and my dad have noticed it, so now im thinking there may be something wrong.

Car seems to drive fine, temp gauge is normal, any ideas what it could be? Old oil on the outside of the motor warming up? I had the crank and cam seals fixed last service. Ideas? Oh, and its 4G93T...

cheers :)

i checked the oil levels last week, plenty there, but ill check again i guess sometime.
i have stock cooler & stock piping.

Oil, brake fluid, power steer fluid leak dripping onto the exhaust?
Oil leak onto turbo?

Hmm i dont know, car will go into service in a few weeks, or two. I dont think its anything major. Could be brakes, they have fluid though, but could brake better.

If you smell something burning (and its not brake pads), please don't wait for it to catch fire before doing something about it.

dw, i think its just old oil on the outter engine warming up, but car will be serviced in a week or so anyways so ill get my mechanic to check it out anyways.

take a an hour or so & fully de-grease your engine AND Block OR any where you see wet-ness/oil, you might just have a VERY small leak that is heating up. (Still not good to leave it!)
Even pull off your intercooler piping so you have more room in the engine bay & while your there de-grease your intercooler piping.

oh alright, yea im thinking ill get my mechanic to detail engine bay and remove old oil on the outside of the engine block. I can see the oil around the timing belt cover still there from the previous leak from the in the past.
