Right,

Almost to the stage where i can put the engine and gearbox back in the borg.

i have cleaned it up as nicely as i can, wire brushed it, degreased etc... but it still looks like a 60 year old granny with herpes.

i have a couple of cans of paint left over from other escapades and i are thinking i should give the box a lick :p

i will paint the box on sunday and post pic's of the resulting drunken effort.

anyway, vote in the poll so i can say "t4g chose that colour, not my fault" :thumbsup:

lol theyd probally laugh at you if you asked them about the colour but theyd probally find some weird colour and say thats the closest theyve got

Paint will always come off dude. Just grab a couple different sized wire brush attachments for a drill (make sure you wear safety goggles!) and clean up the alloy.... then polish it back. Better than paint any day :)

i dont really see the point but you seem to get bored if your not modifying something:rolleyes:
What would the silver achieve over cleaning the gearbox up. Dirt stick to paint less than bare metal?

Unless you get into you engine bay with a high pressure cleaner now and then its just end up looking the same. Just a different tone of silver underneath covered in shit.
So maybe black is the answer, give the focus to the other things in the engin bay and go with the neat look you have going already. Black silver and blue highlights.

paints just easy, looks good if done right.

i mean, i painted my intake mani and it looks super!



its not a brand new box so doesnt look you know... nice...

Either way, get the bolts repacivated. Take 'em all to a local electroplater and ask for a "Gold Zinc repacivation"
 
i've hunted around here in perth for ages for people who do pacivating, but they only do industrial orders, i.e. 10kg+

so i really either need to pull every nut and bolt outta my car, or go in with a few friends.
