Hi Guys,

recently moved to Perth from Vic and need some work done on the car (sooner or later....).

I had all of my work and servicing done at Techsport in Melbourne (who are expensive, but excellent and you know the cars in good hands....)

They recommended two places that specialise in Perth - one called Pro-Drive (I think??) and one other one (the name escapes me).

Cant find any info on the web :(

Can anyone shed any light on the situation?

Ive heard Pro-Drive do good work and RPW (Osborne Park), though I have not used either, I do 98% of my own..

If you need an engine rebuild or engine machining I use "Hi-Tech Cylinder Heads" in Malaga.. a bit north of the city buy worth the travel IMO..

Gearbox - I would use "Precision Automatics" in Osborne Park

If you need "custom machining" such as difficult to machine once off parts (like machining a taper into the flange on a dump pipe by means of clamping the dump pipe only), I've found a place in Myaree thats car modification friendly
Its an Engineering firm located approximately at 66 McCoy St, Myaree, WA cant remember the name... oops..
Got it... Called EMBELTON ENGINEERING

Tyres (including R-specs) - Try Wheels World at Osborne Park.

Race Equipment Specialists - "Go-Gear" in Mt Hawthorn

I need new rims and tyres soon!

I might be able to help with wheels....and have some tyre contacts

as to the workshops.....racetorque and tokyo motorsport are the two that get the best feed back around the traps. they mainly do later evo stuff.

for the early stuff your kinda forced to do it yourself as they dont miss you on price if you know what I mean

Ive used RPW for tuning and so has my mate on his evo 10.Id recommend them. Also Race Torque are supposed to be good but pricey

Just my opinion i wouldn't go to RPW, the guy built to powerful magna so good on him, but talking to him about his evo 3 i wouldn't want him working on my car. A few things i was like wtf.
Just my opinion other support him.

tuning hes good but I wouldnt use him for other workshop services

I think tenagh may have closed up. You cant go past race torque in wangara who prepare the Pedders rally cars and also run mrf tyres asia pacific rally team.they know evos, the workshop is pristine and they are resonably priced for a quality job. pro race in wangara are quite new but have good cars coming out of there to. i have used RPW and all has been ok , tokyo must be good cause alot of people use them who race alot, allstar is another good one so ive been told hope this helps,

I have used RPW for about 3 years and I've been mostly happy with their work. They identified a lot shortcuts that were taken when I got Mitsubie Auto in Malaga to install the 4G92 in my CC Lancer.

i've never heard of this pro drive except the one in the uk who do the wrc cars, did you google it ? Maybe smutt will have some details

My housemate has a mate who can do basics like rotors, pads etc so that problem is solved for the minute.....

But the car is not running well at the moment and there is a definite power decrease compared to when the exhuast and chip were done around a month ago.

Who would be the best workshop for troubleshooting?

Maybe this question could be answered better from the guys on evolutionoz, as they have generally had more dealings with workshops here and so could provide more user feedback.
