Hey All,

Looking at getting standard mitsi pistons but need to know a few things.

Price wise ?

Power capability ?

Pin size ?

Cheers

Price - Would be more expensive then forged.

Power wise - 300kw with stock internals TOPS

Pin Size - 22mm

Note: that there are differences (in compression ratio) between the E1-2 (8.5:1?), and the E3 (9.0:1) pistons.

I've started re-building my spare engine, was forged until I ended up putting a hole on no.1 piston.

But why is forged pistons cheaper than standard piston.

300KW on stock internal --> is that for stock piston and stock rod combo ??
I will be using my forged eagle rods.

300KW is the minimum I'm aiming for, but I will need a good safety margin and good reliability.

And thanks for reminding me that E3 have a higher comp ratio.

Only guessing on the cheaper part as you will be able to get a set of forged slugs for less than $600 to your door - I just cant see Mitsi being cheaper (or cheaper enough to justify not spending the extra few $$$s) than that?

Basing the 300kw from the age old vr4 debate - some engines will make more than 300kw stock internals, some wont. The way that I view it, why would you worry about throwing the factory item in there when there is an affordable aftermarket product that will leave you with plenty of headroom..?
