ok guys heres the story..

i used to have a cc glxi sedan.. i got installed into it an alpine phantom face deck, alpine type r components and an amp.. the install costed me 200 bucks.. but now i want it transfered into my gsr..

the thing is.. a mate of mine looked and the back of the deck of the alpine and my ****** audiomaster deck in my gsr have different plugs, so we cant do a complete straight swap over.. its giving me head *****

i dont want to pay another 200 bucks per car to get the stuff swapped over, so does anybody know anybody that can do it for me at a cheaper price?? or willing to help me out..

thanks peter

its a piece of piss mate...

you just have to cut the wires and solder the old to the new.

when do you need it done by?

If you've got the stereo's instruction book it should have the wiring installation diagram in it, or a sticker on the top of the stereo itself. All you do then is match it up to the correct Mitsu wiring as shown in this diagram: http://www.freefilehosting.net/file/?id=rdj0kKXZ8w== [click on link and download file] As mattress said its a 'piece-a-piss' wiring up a stereo.

hey, i installed my headunit into my cc lancer about 2 months ago.

its easy when you know where all the screws and tricks are.

I dont know about installing the speakers/speaker wiring, but i can help with installing the headunit. I remember what to do :p

(Remember the airvent cable can pop out of the clip next to the heaterbox btw)

+/- speaker wires x4
12v constant x1
12v acc x1
12v illumination (rarely used) x1
gnd x1

just have to cut the alpine plug from the old car, solder + heatshrink the new wires, and there you go :p

if you had speaker cables installed in your old car, hopefully they put connectors on the end of them/headunit loom, so you can just pull them off, otherwise no big problem, just cut, and resolder :)

yeah cut and solder would be easy.. but i just don't know what goes with what..

and plus the alpine deck.. it needs an amp to run coz its got no built in amp..

this is the deck: http://www.carreview.com/cat/car-audio/cd-receivers/alpine/PRD_164114_2861crx.aspx

matress.. id like it done asap.. ill pay for it.. just throw me some prices..

and the thing is.. its a transfer of one car to another so people have to come to me.. so yeah..

*shrugs*

I could give you a hand with it, I am a 2nd year apprentice mechanic, I have done my own car and would like to think I do a good job. Sounds like a fairly easy backyard job, and if you were to be happy with my workmanship could recomend me to others
shoot a PM this way and I'll work something out with ya thats not gonna be $200 a car!

Meh i could help you do it if you want. Only hard part is running wires under the carpet/door trims which i havnt done before. Connecting the headunit preouts to the amp to the speakers is fine.

Your amp 4 channel for the 4 speakers, or you got a 5/6 channel for a sub?

nah no sub lefty.. im only running an amp coz of the deck.. im only running type r splits.. whats the best price u guys can do it for.. give me offers please..

How's it all going Peter? I hope no problems! did you get other deck speakers connected up ok, I put tape around the connections so it wont short out didnt I? Hey Lefty, he does'nt need sub those two 6" splits in the parcel shelf crank pretty hard, has a good sound for a simple setup!

yeah i dont think i need a sub for the time being.. sounds pretty good atm..

all thanks to richard

I did mine over the weekend, took about 2 hours (in that dreadful heat) to install a head deck and speaker wire to the boot for some 6x9's.

piece off piss really, if you still have the factory head deck in there!
