Stock Boost?

Hi! I'm new to the forum and I hope this isn't a repeat question (if so I'm really sorry ), but I have an Evo I that was just imported from Japan about 2 months ago and the car came without any form of a boost controller and was running 14lbs of boost. Is this the normal/stock boost for these cars? If not, does anyone know what the stock boost is? I've been told around here that stock boost on the Evo I is 9 lbs of boost, but would like to know for sure...

Thats about right. it can depend on whether the car has an exhaust or not and also wear and tear. Stock boost on my evo3 since i have had it is 0.65 bar.

Yeah is a little hight if it's stock with no boost cont.

Did you have an exhaust/intake? any small holes/cracks in the vacume line going to the Factory Elec boost cont and/or wastegate, they might "Seem" ok but when they get boost pressure they'll open up.

Stock boost is around 9psi, add an exhaust and intake, it can go anywhere from 10-12psi

My e1 is stock boost, stock exhaust (yeh, wtf?) and running 10lb.
