Hi all, intro number 2 for me, this time with an Evo 6.5 TME.
I recently purchased the car from NSW.
It's pretty much stock with 42,000kms but in immaculate condition.
HKS pod/catback/coilovers.

I dunno what i'm doing with my FRONTN Cordia just yet.

Any other 6.5 owners on here?

Here's some pics.

Tim

this is one mean TME.... it hauls some serious ass with only cat back and pod.... also love the leg bolsters on the recaros!...

Very nice Tim ...

gotta love those seats! they're probably the best ones that came in any of the evos.

Nice Tim there's always room for an upgrade to a later model evo nice choice and the RA Livery stripe kit looks good and suite's it

congrats mate!
i can forsee alot more people upgrading due to the tempting prices of these evos dropping!!!

would of been and insane upgrade from an 80s FWD turbo to a late 90s early 20s rocket ship!!!

love the white on white and the stripes set it off nicely!

any plans?

do you have a standard air box you dont want??
travis, no i don't have the stock air box sorry...

Love it.

As a former 4G63 Cordia owner, desperate to get a TME 6.5 myself, I'm happy for you and consumed with jealousy at the same time!! :p

I couldn't afford the jump in price difference, so am settling (for the moment) with a CC GSR

a word of advice tim... when u step up to a CP/CT car then your looking at basically 5 x the maintenance cost of a CC/GSR/VR4 :)

it does get expensive! make sure everything is done right the first time!
other then that there are no other cons about it :)

Jon

boostboy76: thanks mate, it's been a dream til i got it. I remember years ago standing outside of an imports yard wanting it so bad!

jstyle: After years of trial and error from the cordia days and being abit older and wiser now I know what to do.
I'm planning on keeping the low k's and only drive on weekends or not at all lol..
But yes, if and when this starts to get wild i'll do things right! I earn enough now to do things right and not take short cuts no more..
Thanks for the advice though.

I don't see why it should cost 5 times more just to maintain a car that is at least 15 years younger than a Cordia.

If you've ever owned a VR4'd Cordia, you'd agree it's anything but a cheap experience.

I spent about $30K over 10 years modifying, maintaining & repairing mine, and I'm sure FRONTN would have gone through a similar experience!?

That's what kills me everytime I see someone who has just upgraded to an Evo VI, especially a TME - I could be driving one right now if I hadn't bought my Cordia!!

Owning a much newer car that all you have to do is get serviced regularly is like a dream come true for a Cordia owner!!

thats kinda true and false, un touched the servicing comparasins would put the evo way behind, you have to remember that a vr4 cordia is modified and puting out alot more power than it was designed for, of course its gonna affect the reliability, i bet similar breakdown/mods on the evo are going to cost alot more than on a cordia, i know personally that repairs on my gvr4 are alot more than my cordia for similar issues

anyway, looks good tim, might cruise over on the weekend and get you to take me for a spin ;)
awd makes a huge differents at the lights hey :D

I wouldn't agree with the miantenance side of things. I haven't spent a cent on mine so as far as things breaking goes.
My VI was fine too, the only thing that ever needed was a starter motor, it just got a lil noisy on overrun.

As long as you don't buy a dog of an Evo that has been thrashed and abused, they hold up really well. The thing I loved the most about my VI was the gearbox! So smooth, precise and strong even under very hard conditions. Gotta love Triple synchros!
What Travis said is so true, the VIII is awesome, I love it, but the VI was a lot more raw, it felt like a go kart through the hills.
Congrats again.

its funny you mentions that, the 6.5 does the same thing with its starter.....

but yes after driving Tims TME. i bloody one one! simplistic design, raw power and control, go cart like feel and the brakes are Awesome...

nice work tim! looks shit hot mate! :w00t::thumbsup:

what are you gonna do with the cordia now?
