Hi guys,
Planning on doing alot more lapsprints in my car this year, but I found I had way too much body roll and the suspension was just not what I like on the track. Anyone else take their car for laps around the track and what suspension do you recommend? Thinking about the white line kits but i want to know how they vary in feel incomparison to other brands. Also who is good to go through to get these?

i find that the best way to do suspension is to start with some springs and sway bars and some camber tops and learn from there then slowly add more ... also front and rear braces

after you have had a good feel for the car go full coilovers
 
coilovers can give you a more agressive setup for the trackwork etc. and then have the adjustablility to have something drivable on the roads...
 
The whiteline kit will set your car up really well and have the nose pointing in the right direction out of every corner.
well researched...can be bit expensive..wont sit the car that low..but a very good basis to start with.

Though coilovers will eliminate all your body roll..are usually oversprung as all F*ck.. will give you every point of adjustment you need and work quite well if properly set up.usually too stiff for the street...and shit roads etc...really the best application is track..thats what theyre designed for anyway..

Treat coilovers as throw away items..depending on the brand..expect a harsher ride..expect more NVH (with pillowball tops) and expect pillowball top bearings to clunk when worn,usualy after 18 months-2 years...and expect expensive rebuilds..again it all depends on brand.

The best warning for coilovers is dont buy a set with a monotube mixed charge..make sure watever set it is you buy has a monotube floating piston arrangement with the gas and oil kept seperate.

Coilovers have very little to do with body roll (well to a point)
The primary body roll device is a swaybar
The seconday is springs

You can have a car with VERY little body roll, and have a back as well, just get slightly softer springs for the coilovers :shock:

I was wrong in saying "eliminate all your body roll"

Though.....

Springs..i.e unsprung weight support the car and its movements..ie whether it tilts or not....

for example..
a stock car..fitted with just upgraded swaybars....

or

a stock car fitted with coilovers with stiff springs

i know which would corner better and have less body roll,especially with a lower centre of gravity.

Your right though as the swaybars do counteract body roll in oppsosing directions...it all comes together though.
I guess it does depend in what your doing..i know you blat your car around dirt tracks etc...the coilovers may not be as good as the sway bars in your case..
