Hi Guys,

I started getting groaning noises from the rear right of my car the two days ago. Anyway, got under the car this arvo and noticed that the nut holding the swaybar on on the right (see photo, stolen from someone elses swaybar thread) is missing and the end is no longer attached... Can anyone tell me the thead size of the nut and if it needs to be torqued to a particular setting? Any help much appreciated...

Cheers,
Jack

 Circled the wrong one.

The one above that, thats actually attached to the swaybar...

you need a new sway bar link mate,

there is not a bolt going through, it is actually part of the link, and
yours is broken.

available new from mits,meek etc...

ooops, i did misunderstand, i thought the whole bit was missing (broken off), that will be no dramas to get a hold of

yeh i think is just a 14 or somthing, just take the other side one off and but a few nuts that fit it, then just do it up tight. to do it up all the way you need to put an allen key in the end of the threded part of the link. that will stop it spinning.

Yeah thats my swaybar

Its a standard thread 14mm nut for a mitsubishi, it doesn't have some exotic imperial thread pattern. Any bolt place will be able to provide you with the correct nut.

No torque settings from memory, as you cant do it up with a torque wrench due to the allen key situation. Just do it up tight and it will be fine.
