Currently in Tassie for targa. My wife is competing with the Targa Racing Team and I'm down here helping with servicing.
Anyone else down here this year?
I live here lol will be going to the silverside tomorrow night, and in launceston Thursday night before venturing down the west coast on Saturday ready to watch Queenstown on Sunday
marinetowing is running along with shane russell in rookie rob.
Have fun in the service car rally, I have serviced 5 times and its great fun, especially if you try and catch the car after almost
every stage, good times ahead mate.
Thanks guys. Doubt I'm going to have any time to catch up with anyone though.
My wife is in a black current model MX 5, car number 924. There are 5 black mx5's which I'm helping service.
Prologue all done and dusted. Foreplay over. Time for the real thing tomorrow. More pics have been uploaded to the link I put in my previous post. But I'll leave you with this one.
Day 1 of competition done and dusted. 8 stages all out of the way without any major incidents or damage. Two of the MX5's caught the Porsches in front during the stages and apparently Porsches don't have rear vision mirrors or it is a sin to own a Porsche and to be passed by a hair dresser's car. Either way, if they don't let the guys pass if they get caught again, the incar footage will be passed onto the officials and protests lodged.
Saw a maroon vr4 down at st Helen's today. Pulled up near where we were refueling. If you are from here, sorry that I didn't get a chance to say hi as we were run off our feet refueling 7 cars.
Off to Strahan tomorrow, lots of driving to do so we can service the cars between stages.
All our cars are still in top shape. Same cant be said for a mustand and a corvette. The crash vids are up on YouTube already.
seems you are enjoying the targa experience Rob, good stuff mate.
Well done but also a bit of bad luck to Scott also, closing in on the lead in rookie modern until
a fuel pump failure prior to the sideling forced him to coast through the last two stages but still managing to come
home in second place. Well done mate.
