ahhh...at this stage im out guys....unless i can come up with a miracle...

have threaded a manifold stud so have to helicoil the head so i can put it back in...also like a genius i dropped a bolt into the timing cover so gotta rip everything apart...

i dont have the time nor the skills to fix these issues on my own in the dark so will have to do it saturday at some stage

I dont think his issues are due impart to anyone but himself this time around..

Have done the drop the ol bolt in the timing case.. I just ended up locating it and unbolting all the covers. sucks.

LOL - Been there and done that again and again and again and will keep doing it mate!! That's why I can't recommend enough to anybody that they spend their $$$ on some decent tools and get stuck into working on their own car - the knowledge and understanding you'll gain will give you a heap more satisfaction (and granted - frustration) than paying a workshop ever will. If you give it a go and fuk something up - then fix/replace it and finish the job - it's not open heart or brain surgery so chances are you won't kill anybody if you give it a try!!

I was contemplating bringing my car down but I've got no turbo on it at the moment and no $$$ to rebuild it so I may drop past in the Astra lease car take a geezer at what's happening.

yeh look the bolt i dropped down the timing cover is a pain an the head stud is unlucky...will fix it on monday yeh off to buy some tools on the weekendthe gasket letting go is noones fault it was a shit gasket could handle the changed engine pressures due to the cams but just keep finding unfun things like there is a tiny bit of piston movemnet assume rings are worn an oil residue in intake manifold...indicate blow by so i think a forged motor is iminent at some stage soon
