Anyone know what's the difference between Super Street and Type Flex?

Also, are there any stockists/distributors in Australia, preferably VIC (Tein Australia do not stock anything other than AUS-spec coilovers )

Cheers,
Alex

aus spec is better for the road hands down alex(and even for track imo)

the jap spring rates are through the roof, double what you should run really

Fulcrum Suspension are the distributor & servicer for TEIN here in Oz, although I expect everyone here's aware of that already.

I got a quote for some Evo 3 Super Streets today from Car Torque here in Adelaide

$3300 including the pillow ball top mounts

Although that did include freight from Melbourne to Adelaide.

you can buy ones to suit ce9a's as I originally bought some and them sold them to jorel before I even fitted them. I bought mine through centreline in thomastown and I think they were about $2300 or so with tops front and rear.

fulcrum (preston) order them to aus. spec through tein.. they had a set on the shelf back in november when i went. you can always buy stiffer springs. i was quoted $2300 (can't remember which model) but even the sales/manager bloke agreed it was pricey and said he'd do a better price when i was ready to buy.
too bad i figured out how to completely strip down my zeal functions for a full rebuild at $30 a corner

sweet as, I'll give Fulcrum in preston a call! NK do you have their number by any chance? Is it 'Statewide Auto & Offroad' ?

I rang centreline and they said they can't do anything for me?

Just import them your self and save ALOT of money. Im buying 90% of my parts over seas, paying for freight component and everything Ive bought works out shyte loads cheaper than any place in Oz. (no middle man/freight charge twice)

Check this site out as an example.

2 second search on google, gotta love the internet!!!

Basteds! There's no teins listed for an e39a vr4.
Rang up fulcrum to, "they are too old" Fark you!

What about emailing Hotbits in Malaysia direct. I did and he was really quick to send back two setups he'd recommend. Their prices in the catalog are in ringgit but he quoted me in USD.

The bloke recons they are very adjustable in firmness to. Said up to 80% difference firm to soft. What ever that refers to, must be the dyno results.
Prices for my car were reasonable. Ask what setups they offer for your car maybe.

check their website.. it's off bell st.
it's probably better to stick to aussie spec as the twin-tube design looks pretty shitty to rebuild, and nobody will touch the jdm stuff without paying big money. you'll be kicking yourself in 12mths when you blow a seal and end up having to pay twice as much to service.

I signed up to the above site in order to obtain freight prices.

It's quoting $2075 AUD to get a set of Evo 3 Super Streets, including freight!?

How come so cheap compared to the prices Aussie TEIN distributors are quoting me for the same coilovers?

its only $125-225 cheaper than oz and you dont get a warranty

for the little bit extra its well worth it for the warranty and australian service:thumbsup:

I wonder why I got quoted $3300 - I know the pillow ball top mounts were included in my Aussie distributor supplied quote, but surely they're not worth over $1200?

How long is the Aussie warranty for?

Surely the chances of a TEIN coilover failing in 12 months are extremely slim, and I could probably get anything that goes wrong resolved by Fulcrum anyway?

A saving of $100 - 200 bucks is $100 - 200 bucks in my pocket!

as i said in my earlier post mate i paid $2300 (or 2200 cant remember) with camber adjustable pillow ball tops and pillow ball rears brand new with warranty and proper spring rates

Yes, but someone else after that post said they rang Centreline and they couldn't help him?

I'll give Fulcrum a call tomorrow and see if I can get a better quote.
