the best way to wire in feul pumps.

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

well the way its setup its not really lifting anything, its more just pushing fuel thru to the surge. when I was talking to my mate, I said I was going to run something smaller to feed the surge, but he said no get the same size, that way you know the surge will always be full..

now its all running sweet. what is the best pressure to have the fpr running at? currently its running on 60psi

yep as brian said low to mid 40s

an 044 wont actually be a great lift pump as they don't surpass a lot of other pumps until the pressure is right up.
to give you an Idea I run a carter gold low pressure pump as a lift pump which feeds two 044s that run together.

just remember flow and pressure are different ;)

ok with that being said, will the 044 work, even if its not the greatest. Because ive already got everything inline plumbed in and tank full. Im not too keen on pulling it all apart to swap over pumps or make new lines etc,

if no, is there a pump out there that is like the 044 that will mount into the cradle and using the same lines?

is this the pump you mean - http://www.partman.com/carter-p74021-low-pressure-fuel-pump.html

just to make sure..

This is the setup on the "lift" side, its not really lifting anything just pushing.

so that pump is filling the surge that's under the floor?
what size fuel line is that? -6? what fuel are you running?
and final one what is your return line size?

Yep that pump in filling the surge underneath. Yeah all lines are -6 all round

Fuel is just pump fuel, 98 octane, nothing else atm anyways, not enough servos doing e85 yet

Its fine like that. But just a std gsr pump will keep a surge tank full. Esp with the surge tank under the tray. But is the filter there between the tank and the first pump? Normally the filter is on the pressure side of the pump.

Do you have a AN 37º hard line flare tool? Or is it the olive crimp fitting thing on your hard lines?

The fittings I've used have an olive thing around the Teflon line

But yeah the filter is before the pump, thought it would be better there so no crap or anything goes into the pumps at all
