hey guys,

i get my car back this week after round 1 of mods, can't wait! ...but, now i have to start planning round 2! what is the next stage i should go to?
so far it has:
Wolf 3D version 4 ECU
550cc injectors
Walbro fuel pump
High flow 14b turbo
Bigger front mount intercooler (approx 600x200x76)
Boost controller
Cat back 2.5 inch exhaust.

I'm thinking that next I should either go for a bigger turbo or a Cam.
Anyone got any preferences? I'm considering something like 264/272 cams with heavy duty valve springs or, a T03/T04 or TD05/6 20G?

Mat

too early for cams / turbo buddy

i'd do

3" exhaust turbo back
2.25" or 2.5" piping from the turbo to cooler
2.5" piping from intercooler to the t/b
remake the intake piping

im talking good stuff, this stuff really makes a difference
you'll feel much more top end and awesome response

i got a call from brad saying that they're working on your car.. i gotta pop in and give em a hand with something..

but im happy for ya!

stick with what u have for as long as you can, its amazing what tdo5's can do

i mean there are guys in the states running 10's with them

what does hi-flow actually mean? whats has been done to your turbo exactly? if it were hi flow im assuming they would have changed the compressor wheel and have opened it up, and possible back cut the turbine.. any idea?

hey mate,
any idea how far along the car is? i spoke to brad yesterday and he said they were finishing up the wiring.
i thought about dump pipes etc. and cooler piping, but i dont want to change the dump before i do the turbo, as it will probably need to be changed for the new turbo.
about the high flow, the receipt says "high flow turbo $2000"
i'm guessing it has a 16g comp wheel and probably opened up comp cover, maybe something done to the turbine wheel aswell. i tried contacting them about it but didnt get any info, it was done back in 99 or something.

who did it?? 2000 is alot of dosh!

if its high flowed mate, i honestly think you shouldn't upgrade it until you've used it..

bigger isn't always better

i know the biggest comp wheel u could fit would be around the size of a 20g turbo

and u could easily make 200kw's on that turbo

if its an 060 exhaust housing, and u want more flow, just get an 070 exhaust housing and bolt that up for more top end

not sure how far they are, ill probably drop in today

i didnt buy it like that, it came on the car when i bought it, but yeah, $2000 is a lot of bickies! :)
it was reco'd at the same time ($380 extra)
it was done by Promaz

ah okay
do promaz do turbo rebuilds?
most likely, they outsourced it to: my guess: ATP / or that place down near the air port.... cant remember the name

if u get the chance, pull off the inlet pipe and look inside and take a pic of the comp wheel..

anyway, went by rank today, gave them some wiring diagrams etc etc..
so i guess it'll be done soon!!

i know how ya feel mate, i had rank do (the first time i used them) wolf3d, injectors, fuel pump

made 140kw's at the wheels with no torque!! haha..
i had a dodgy wastegate

exactly what I was thinkin too!

the 2.5" cat back really isnt doing much, you'll pick up some good gains from a good exhaust

i suppose i should find out if the turbine housing is 060 or 070. if it is 070, does that mean a dump pipe will fit and EVO III style turbine housing aswell? might save my changing dump pipes.
is there an easy way to tell which one i have?

ps. thanks for dropping off that stuff barry, i'm on the edge of my seat at the moment! can't wait to get it back! :D

thats cool mat

the 070 /060 refers to the exhaust housing size not turbine.. the turbines are exactly the same throughout the tdo5 series..

the only way to check is by looking at the exhaust housing..
u can see it with the heat shields removed
