Ok guys let me explaine I have noticed with my Evo 4 that cold starts take a while to get it
Going and when warm the idle changes from around 900rpm to 1600rpm and sort
Of chops and changes as I drive,
I'm using a xf throttle body (custom intake man) but havnt got a tps so I'm thinking that could b the problem other thing I'm thinking is that the throttle plate could b loose and become stuck open a fraction hence it idling high. I'm thinking of tracking down a new throttle body to suit with a tps and hope it does the trick, any suggestions you guys have is much appreciated.
Thanks dan

Aaahh yes.. no TPS is your problem. Ditch the Ford throttle body and stick the stock throttle body back on with oem TPS. No need to go to larger diam throttle body at all unless youre running larger diam intercooler piping and making big power. Honestly, over the years we've discovered our engines can make in excess of 400hp with oem throttle bodies and <3" intercooler piping so no point changing them most of the time.

Thanks guys I figerd it was most likly causing the problem, problem I have with replacing it with an oem item is that i am running bigger intercooler piping and a larger custom intake manifold (got a gt 30/76 turbo) I wonder if I could find another throttle body with tps that's suits ill hunt around thanks fellas
Dan

I read on the us site that a twin turbo 3000gt has the biggest oem tb. Dunno if we had a 3.0 twin turbo here...
The cold start is handled by the faiv on the tb, also the idle speed control as well.
There is a few aftermarket options too

Yeh good call, I'm sure there would have to b an aftermarket xf throttle body out there I mean they are super popular especially on rb engines otherwise I could probly find a tps from somthing to fit we shall see
