Hey all.

After replacing my lifters with lifters with a larger hole, my car has developed a louder tick, but only while accelerating.
The tick is while accelerating at about 50% throttle.
The tick goes away when I release the throttle, and isn't present when idling.

I'm going to try an oil flush, new filter and oil, but the noise just sounds too loud to be dirty oil.

Any ideas?

It does take time to pump the filters...
Maybe you still have some unpumpped up lifters....
Pull the rocker cover off and inspect.

Did you do the install yourself?

Could be any one of the following.... lifters, fuel injectors, fan hitting shroud, water
pump, belt tensioner.

Maybe an exhaust leak even??
"It may be an exhaust leak from the area where the exhaust manifold is mated to the head and perhaps a gasket failure around one cylinder's exhaust output. Beyond that it can be valve train noise such as a lifter, rocker arm or other cam-driven component. Were it a heavy clunking rather than a ticking I'd start to suspect the bottom end"

Update:
Did an oil flush and replaced filter and oil - no change.

Ruling out lifters as they have been changed already, I'm suspecting valve(s)? The noise is higher up in the engine.

Hypothetically speaking, should I be driving the car with a noise like this? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu9wyxPArPg

Meek Automotive would be my first choice....... over MRT especially......

And FARK ME!!!!!! That motor sounds terrible......
Dont know if I would be driving that too far at all.....
