hey guys, im gonna be replacing my o2 sensor soon since my car has started using more fuel lately. Im thinkin it could do with a replacement (150,000kms)

Just wondering which one i should get, i rang bursons and they had the cheapest plus its an NGK one.

Do we need to get the single wire or 4 wire, which ones work better for our cars ? and give better economy ?

any info would be great :)

how did u guys go after replacing o2's ???

im currently using about 14litres/100 or about 10-12 hwy cycle....
that sucks :( considering that im pretty lightfooted and cruise majority of the time.

Cheers

Excellent question, I bet mine is the original one, cuz I bought my E33A with 135XXX k's, and now it's got, well.. u dun wanna kno!

Anyone have results? Mine is rich I think, it should get some more grunt if it ran lean'er/

i work at supercheap and found that the ngk one was the most expensive (just over 200) there is another one i think tridon or something like that which is only about 120

thats expensive as my NGK one wire was $65 from bursons

maybe you mean the 4 wire with price sounds about right

You have to be careful with O2 sensors, as they aren't all created equal. Granted one may be cheaper, but if it is stoich at 450 mv and the stock is stoich at 600, then you will be running a shade rich anyway.

Also, the o2 sensor wont give you any extra grunt, it is only for light load cruising and idle.

Well i got about 65 as well from bursons for NGK.
So how did ppl go after replacing the o2 ?
did u guys notice any difference in economy ?

cheers

Haha.. just having one in mine made a big difference to driveability.. but if yours is completely screwed, you will notice a saving, as generally when a cars o2 sensor is dead, they run in open loop constantly, and have no idea what's going on with the mixture, so as much fuel is injected as possible to avoid detonation.

my o2 sensor on gsr is a 2 wire, i guess its original. I've tested it on cold start and warmed up conditons. Cold start reading won't give you anything since the o2 sensor hasnt warmed up yet to trigger the signal feed to ecu. And warm up 5min idle i get 420mv to 470mv and a stable 450mv this is fairly normal at closed loop (14.7:1). Mine o2 sensor hasnt been replaced since i brought car back start of 2003.
