Hi Guys

Has anybody had any experience with Tora Braking Systems products?
They are based in Queensland and state that their rotors are cast in an ISO9001 facility, but I cant find any information on them on their website nor any reviews.
The company is ISW Trading Pty Ltd T/A OnlineAutoParts.com.au

PS: Not for my car, I'm just looking to put some new pads and rotors on the Mrs RAV4 GSA33R to improve braking performance.
I've already bought new pads, but as far as rotors go these look good value for the money provided they aren't worse than RDA lol.

Got a response via email in the meantime:

Hi Rob, Tora are a great quality rotor, we have been selling these for
around 3 years now, we import direct from the manufacturer hence our price
structure, Tora rotors are manufactured in China same as Rda and Brembo, we
have no concern over their quality or performance, construction or
durability, I am a mechanic with 24yrs in the auto industry and have no
concerns at all with using these on our own vehicles here at all, I
personally use these on my family car without concern.

Hope that this may answer you question and concerns. cheers.

I have read that the lower spec DBA brand rotors are also made in China and that the higher spec 'kangaroo paw' DBA rotors are locally made.
So do we naturally assume that DBA low spec, RDA, Tora and ummm... lower spec Brembo all come from China? But from the same factory perhaps that's accredited to ISO9001.
Seems everything is fkn made in China these days, probably even the OEM rotors!

How bad are RDA? I know that people curse them but that's usually because they're flogging the shit out of them.
Isn't it just under severe braking (circuit etc) that they warp?
I would have thought that they'd be fine for a daily driver?

I have Rda on my cars and no problems...Ive had the front discs glowing red. No issues except normal wear you would expect from that sort of driving

I bit the bullet and am going to give these Tora's a try.
I have RDA's in my AWD turbo coupe and they appear to be wearing quite quickly for the little amount of se they have had <5,000kms.
I think for my coupe in future I will go with the DBA's.
But this time I'll give Tora a try for the RAV4. SUV's brake heavily up front and the oem rotors and pads have now been on for 80,000kms. OEM rotors are warping and the pads are starting to make noise. I figure the previous owner was one of those who would speed up in traffic and stomp on the brakes. It has a tow bar but they only used it a couple of times towing box trailers when moving. Perhaps its even a combination of heat when towing too? Whatever the reason I'm changing to a slotted and dimpled front rotor and good pad setup now that will hopefully keep them running a bit cooler with better bite.
Let's see how they go.

I'll give the guys at online autos a good rap too, whatever product. Have got a fair few parts of them over the years and they have always been good. Very willing to talk to you to check parts are going to fit and have had to return item which was no hassle at all.
