mate , i have an 80 series turbo diesel cruiser, you cant go past it. yes it does use a bit of fuel, but i just towed a nissan patroll which had rolled, on a car trailer back from the Daintree to Townsville and i had no problems sitting on 90 -100 all the way (except big hills). also
to get a low car up on the trailer try winding up the jockey wheel to give the trailer a better angle.
watch the holden and ford sedans as if you dont get a good towbar the body can twist and you cant open the doors

If your after a cheap V6 VN commodore, One of my good mates has one for sale, Fairly new blue 2pak paint, tow bar, AC, fairly new shocks. He wants $600 for it. We have towed his Ford Econovan (355ci V8) to the drags b4 with it, Approx 2.5hrs and towed great.
If your interested its located in Traralgon (south east of melb.). Just PM me.

Nick.

I bought myself a VR for $1000, Picked it up with 10mths rego, lowered, cat back exhaust and 3 week old tyres on VT 17" rims. Can't complain, Besides having no heater It's a good get to work car.

total spent including tidying up, stereo, setting up for towing and general servicing = ~$500-550

It's boring as hell driving it, but I'd hate to say it, I kinda enjoy it.. Just Cruisin, not being paranoid about getting pulled over, parking it on the street and generally treating it like the dog it is.
