Hello, I am wanting to relocate my power tr unit and coil packs, in doing this I don't want to use the oem bracket which screws onto the intake manifold.

I've marked the leads on the coils and removed the unit from the car, unscrewed the coils and power tr unit from the bracket and have noticed the power tr has a metal back.

My question is, does the metal back on the tr unit need to be in contact with a metal surface? I was just going to zip tie it somewhere because it's little.

And is there anything I have to watch out for with the coil packs? I was just going to bolt them to the firewall and get extended leads made up.

Thanks

i'd just make up a small jumper earth lead mount one end using a ring terminal on the tr unit with a nut and bolt and earth the other end to the chasis. just to be safe

the car will not run without the tr unit functioning correctly so if you don't do the above and the car wont start you know you will have to earth the unit.

i've replaced mine and im pretty certain it had a plastic back so it should be alright mounted away wherever you want
