Tuning the Profec B spec II--simple version

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

i know this is an old thread....but just wanted to know.

is set gain always measured in psi? or is it a setup you change on the controller.

cause mine shows a percentage value.

oh ok..thats weird. mine shows it in a percentage value for set gain. which is when you press mode button twice isnt it?

how do you change that?

oh ok... mine's in psi now.

so set gain should be set on 18psi (desired amount minus 4 psi) like libero said, do i put it in as 18 on the controller or 180 ( x100 kpa is how it is measure, ie 14.0 psi is shown as 140 on controller) ?

yep that's right, 180

you'll know the difference in spooling anyway from 18 (0.18 psi) & 180 (18psi)

no worries

any of you guys having trouble tuning it? mayb its me cause Im still running on a stock ecu.

Mostly its hard tuning it as its easily misunderstood instructions on base settings and tweaking it from there to your own specific set up. And yes I have had my head on wall bashing tantrums before I slowly understood it.

I learnt more about how to set it up with a friend explaining it who understands it allot better than me.

ok, so i set my SET GAIN to 140 (14psi) and advanced my exhaust came one degree.

took it for a test run and if i sit on 3200 - 3400rpm on fourth and load it up, im at 18.1 psi by around 4000rpm. which is a big difference. :D alot less laggier in my opinion.

one thing i did notice though, 1st and second gear are very top endish for such short gears. 1st gear hits really hard around 4600 and second is around 4200rpm. but i think thats just the effects of having 272's and 20g.

good write up btw libero ;)
