I am installing my oil and water lines for the GT35 and am wondering if anyone has run the oil line off the filter sandwich plate? I am thinking you will get the oil straight after the filter so I can minimise any debris blocking the inlet

You do not want to do this unless you have a restrictor installed.

The oil filter housing pressure is too high for a bball turbo.
Ideally, it would be better off the head in the stock location with an inline filter.

Check out the MITSU DATABASE and it is in there.

Just like that.

If shep takes his oil from there, it should be good for any of us with the amount of boost he makes with that turbo!

My turbo oil feed is off the filter housing, as I used to have a plain bearing turbo. I use the same oil feed for my current garrett ball bearing turbo without a problem. If you look inside the oil feed port on the turbo, you should see that there's a suitable restrictor already installed in the turbo.

On the other hand, if your filter housing isn't already tapped for an oil feed, I wouldn't bother using it. If you've got enough debris going through your motor to block your turbo oil feed from the head, you've probably got more important things to worry about :p

Got the oil lines figured. The water lines are next. Has anyone used braided hose for these?

Yeah mate .. I had a fitting brazed onto the water pipe that runs across the front of the block (I had an N/A pipe that doesn't have the standard water fitting), and returned to that. The feed I took off the thermostat housing (it was one of the lines that originally went to the water/oil cooler, I think).
