I am installing my oil and water lines for the GT35 and am wondering if anyone has run the oil line off the filter sandwich plate? I am thinking you will get the oil straight after the filter so I can minimise any debris blocking the inlet
My turbo oil feed is off the filter housing, as I used to have a plain bearing turbo. I use the same oil feed for my current garrett ball bearing turbo without a problem. If you look inside the oil feed port on the turbo, you should see that there's a suitable restrictor already installed in the turbo.
On the other hand, if your filter housing isn't already tapped for an oil feed, I wouldn't bother using it. If you've got enough debris going through your motor to block your turbo oil feed from the head, you've probably got more important things to worry about
Yeah mate .. I had a fitting brazed onto the water pipe that runs across the front of the block (I had an N/A pipe that doesn't have the standard water fitting), and returned to that. The feed I took off the thermostat housing (it was one of the lines that originally went to the water/oil cooler, I think).
