what do you guts mean when you say 14b or 16g, i konw that a 16g is better but what makes it better is it bigger different turbines???????

It refers to the compressor wheels...
14b - the stock TD05 from a VR4 and has a smaller compressor wheel and 6cm2 turbine housing - good for about max 300-320hp@21psi (claimed 405cfm at 14.7psi)
16g - the stock TD05 from an EVO 1 and 2 with a bigger compressor wheel and a 7cm2 turbine housing - good for about max 340-360hp@22psi (claimed 505cfm at 14.7psi)
Big16g - the stock TD05 from an EVO 3 with a slightly bigger compressor wheel yet again and still has the 7cm2 turbine housing - good for max 360-380hp@22psi (claimed 550cfm at 14.7psi)

Thats a pic of a 14B vs a big 16G Naturally you can see the size differences and the fin design differences. Basicly the larger wheel has more capacity of swallowing air and spitting it back out.

These aren't the only differences in the turbos though, the 14B has a smaller exhaust housing which will limit top end power, but aid response (Less "lag")

Basicly its just a case of matching a turbo for its intended use.

if youre wanting something for your GSR, 4G93T, then get a hybrid TD05big16G/14B made up.

use the 14B turbine housing, but everything else should be from the 16G. good for the 1.8L.......

just go and see Kyp at ATP in Carnigie!! he will fix you up. but make sure you have some money, but its worth it!!

can you put a 16g turbine in a 14b turbo or can you get different internals coz i heard the standed 14b are a shit turbo

14Bs aren't a "shit" turbo, but they do have their downsides. A cast iron exhaust housing and an older generation "B" style conpressor wheel. Personlly I think its a good compromise upgrade for a street 4G93T. If you want the bigger power sacrificing a little response a 16G would be best.

I wouldnt go there again. Period.

Like Cade said, Email mark @ Gtpumps and ask him if he could make you a 14B/16G hybrid for your 1.8L GSR.

Im sure he would be able to make one.
