Hey guys,

I have a turbo timer in my car, which counts etc when my car is on, but as soon as i turn the car off, the timer turns off as well.

Does anyone know why it is doing this?

Yeah bro, I have the manual.

The auto electrician that put my alarm in, said that he reset it but couldnt get it to work. He told me that I need a new one.....I dont buy it, thats why im putting the question out there...:)

i dont buy that either lol.
check the manual.. make sure u've got all the settings right etc.
otherwise i'd go back to him, he's messed with it i'd say.
they do reset once u undo ur battery, maybe thats all it is?

Maybe....the battery was changed when the car came to Aus.

All the settings are ok....I just need someone who knows what they are talking about to look at it just to conf if I need a new one or not, its doing my head in having to sit in the car to cool it down, etc....He didnt seem to know too much about turbo timers...

brand of the timer? could be the relay in the timer thats dead or someone wired it rong on your car..

where abouts you live bro?

Im down in the Werribee area on Sunday at my cousins house...

Pretty sure there is 2 power source, one for constant and the other for ignition. If it powers off with the key, then I think its the orange wire for accessories power.

Personally I reckon the turbo timer is waste of petrol, unless your reaching mega high temps, and need to cool off properly :) hehe

^^ agreeed, but hey, everyone knows how addictive boost is, even till the last corner.. 30 seconds of sitting isnt gunna make you get roared at from your boss, its not that long

My advice is that you remove it. It paves the way for car thieves straight to your ignition/immobiliser wires and in (the harsh) reality- you simply don't need it- thrashing your car then letting it sit on the sport for a minute or 2 cant be good for it.

BINGO also they are a compleate waste of money
Q: How good to you think a car at idle will cool down a red hot turbo
A: F all

Turbo timers are for the uniniciated that just want to buy something accessible that they think will actually do something good, when in fact there are more bad reasons why you shouldn't be running one than good.

Awesome guys, thanks for the tips. However, I just bought a new one and installed it on the weekend...thanks again

Its good after thrashing it on the track, because I normally wait approx 15 min before all temps goes down, I find doing warm down laps alot more efficient.
